Let there be light!

Moving forward with my new adoration for Cinema 4D, I set up this build to experiment with global illumination, which uses object generated light rather than the native program lights. I love the subtle highlights and shadows that are created on the letter edges, as well as the diffused reflections on the floor. Click the image below for a larger view.

Stepping in to the 3D Arena

After some initial dabbling, and having it on the “to do” list for a long time, I’ve finally been able to dedicate some time to work in Cinema 4D. Though working with books has been a good jumping off point with other applications, I found the samples in Anne Powers’ Cinema 4D ¬†sourcebook to be a little less than inspirational, though well explained. Instead I find myself running through the great amount of online tutorials that are available, as well as the great userbase, whose members are often eager to help problem solve.

Next step is to tackle some camera rigging to get a nice fly through on my logo treatment…
